Default Dauderman Knocks Down Another First at The Battle of Belle-Vegas!

(ALHAMBRA, IL) Bobby Dauderman of Alhambra, IL. led all 30 laps of the Battle at Belle-Vegas feature on May 17th at Belle-Clair Speedway, for another first for his family run team.

Dauderman drove his Rocket chassis to victory at a track that saw him become the first ever driver to win a regular UMP Super Late Model race at the track with a sealed GM 604 crate motor several years ago.

This time it wasn't the GM 604 that powered him to victory, this victory marked the first time Dauderman has won a Super Late Model with a Super Late Model engine under the hood. "It's no Roush-Yates (engine)", joked the 25-year-old 2 time UMP Pro Late Model Champion, "but it’s probably got 2-300 horse (power) more than our crate motors". “We like to call it old smoky because it usually smokes for about the first half of the night”, Dauderman continued, “we got it from a guy who said it’s an old Kenny Schrader NASCAR engine, so it’s been around awhile. But we plan to run it until we can afford to get it freshened, and then we’ll have to rename it I guess.”

The $2000 victory was the highest paying win of Dauderman’s career, a career that has been filled with “firsts” for both Dauderman and the tracks and series’ he runs.

Flash back to 2007, Dauderman won a 30 lap Super Late Model special at his local track, Highland Speedway, his first win after moving up from the go kart ranks. Crossing the finish line ahead of drivers like Randy Korte, Steve Sheppard Jr., Mark & Billy Faust, Chad Zobrist, Brian Wolfmeier and others, the win marked the first win by a GM 604 powered Late Model at the track and in the region.

In 2009 and Dauderman pulled off another first by becoming UMP’s first Pro Late Model Champion. Winning 10 races while running at 11 different tracks spanning 5 states, his team ran 50 races winning the points chase by a mere 7 points over Kentucky’s Tait Davenport.

Then in 2010, Dauderman was at Belle-Clair Speedway to try his luck once again against the Super Late Models. This time winning the track’s most cherished race the Belle-Clair Bowl 100, with his sealed GM 604 crate engine marking another first for the track, team and driver.

Other firsts for the driver fondly named “The Undertaker” include the first 2 time winner of the UMP Pro Late Model Championship (2009 & 2012), the first (and only) Pro Late Model Champion of the UMP DirtCar Round-Up at I-55 and the first driver to win the UMP and Pro Crate Racers of America Championships in one year.

Is there another first that Dauderman is after for 2013? “Well of course we want to be first every time we go out but, I would really like to win my first Summer Nationals race this year” smiling, Dauderman said “if old smoky will hold together long enough for that”.

The team plans to run a limited crate schedule in 2013 to concentrate mostly on getting the crew and driver use to that extra horse power. Then possible catch a couple of Summer Nationals events at their local race tracks when they come to town.

RESULTS: Bobby Dauderman, Mike Hammerle, Michael Kloos, Dave Thorton, Rodney Standerfer, Steve Lach, Andrew Johns, Kevin Cole, Daryn Klein, Mark Voigt, Vince Grondzki, Jason Zobrist, Jim Gibson, Paul Roider, Trevor Thorton, Brent Kreke, Frankie Martin.
