The Dan Reno Memorial and The Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association invade Jackson County Speedway this Saturday June 29th

Preparation is well under way and the prize lists for everyone, racers and fans alike continues to grow as we prepare for what could possibly the biggest night in the history of Jackson County Speedway. The decision was made to make this year’s Dan Reno Memorial a modified due to the fact that in 2004 Dan Reno made his racing debut in a modified, that racer was number 22, for the year that his father was born. While Dan raced the 22 for the year their father was born brother Darrell raced the number 36, dad was born on March 6th, thus 36. It is only fitting that after Dan’s untimely death in 2009 that brother Darrell started what has grown to be a keystone event in the region. And continue to grow it has, partly due to the fact that the sale of event t-shirts help to pay for the next year’s purse. In fact while supplies last when you buy a 2013 event shirt for $20 you will get a previous year shirt absolutely free as long as they last.
On the track the money is really serious, it starts with qualifying, $122 for fast time from Audie Swartz at Swartz race cars. The 6 car dash which is the fast 6 qualifiers racing 6 laps with a full field invert pays $222 from Mt Zion Christian Union Church. The feature pays $222 to start, the winners share is $2222 of this amazing purse. The feature winner also receives a $500 gift certificate from Phantom Race Gear thanks to our new friend Rob Crowley.
Also for the racers there are 2 brand new Hoosier race tires, the first is from fellow racer Chuck Yeley and Yeley Builders will be presented to the 22nd quick qualifier while Adam Jordan and Jordan Heating and Cooling will present the other tire to the leader on lap 22. Also do not be surprised if more perks are not announced as we get closer to race time.
Now back to the fans, the first 68 kids through the gate get an event t-shirt, these are sizes x-small, small and medium. There will be 2 brand new kids’ bikes given away thanks to Ronnie Rapp of Rapp repair in Beaver and Steve Leist from Adver-Tax in Chillicothe. The first 52 youngster will draw a card from a deck of playing cards, then as the evening progresses 2 cards will be drawn from another deck and the youngsters with the matching cards win the bikes. Two more lucky general admission fans will each get a $100 bill thanks to Randy Botkin from Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly and Hank Dyke from D&M Welding also in Waverly. There will also be event sweat-shirts that are not for sale but will be given away randomly thanks to Gustin Insurance, Seif Law Offices in Waverly and Hopkins Insurance in Piketon. The biggest thanks for the night go to Darrell Reno for all the hard work to put all this together and Jackson County Speedway Owner, Brad McCown for putting this event together and bringing this great event to Jackson County Speedway.
Also the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association makes their return for a $1500 to win purse along with Outlaw 4s and mini-wedges.
Don’t forget all the perks for the early arrivals and the gates open at 4pm with Hot Laps at 6:30.
