Bill Koons and John Anderson Team Up to Tackle Four Wild West Tour Events!

(OMAHA, NEBRASKA) In an announcement made today by team owner Bill Koons, the Bill Koons Motorsports team will travel with the ultra-competitive World of Outlaws Late Model Series to tackle four ‘Wild West Tour’ showdowns from July 8-12. In addition to Bill piloting his own #29 machine, an agreement has been reached to put three-time Lucas Oil MLRA Series Champion John Anderson behind the wheel of a second team car. John, who also hails from Omaha, Nebraska, can normally be found mashing the loud pedal of his Shop Quik Racing #2 entry, but will saddle up with Bill Koons Motorsports for the long trip through the states of South Dakota, Wyoming, North Dakota and the Canadian province of Manitoba.

“This is a deal that came together recently and I think it will be great for all parties involved,” exclaimed Koons a short time ago. “Me and John (Anderson) have been friends for a long time and it will be fun going racing together. We are going to have (former crew chief) Bryan Larimore back with us for the trip, as well as John’s old crew chief Vinny Guliani who is now with JRI Shocks. I am excited for the trip and hopefully we can run up front with the Outlaws guys next week!”

The four-race WOOLMS swing will start for the team on Monday, July 8 with an $8,000 to win program at the Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, South Dakota. Another $8,000 payday will be on the line on Tuesday at the Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette, Wyoming. Following a day off for travel on Wednesday, both Bill and John will vie for $10,000 top prizes on Thursday at the Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg, Manitoba and on Friday at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
