Southern All Star Racing Series Visits Magnolia Motor Speedway for 10th Annual Coca-Cola Governor’s Cup July 20

Fayetteville, TN- July 14, 2013- The Southern All Star Racing Series rolls right along in the month of July as the tour makes its only visit to the state of Mississippi in 2013 on Saturday July 20 at the 3/8 mile ultra-modern Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS for the 10th Annual Governor’s Cup, paying $4,000 to the winner and $300 to start.

The Southern All Star Racing Series event at Magnolia Motor Speedway on Saturday July 20 will feature a complete program of practice, WhitePerformance.com A-B Group Time Trials, PPM Racing Products Last Chance Showdowns, and will conclude with the 40 lap, $4,000 to win 10th Annual Coca-Cola Governor’s Cup A-Main. Joining the Southern All Star Racing Series in action at Magnolia Motor Speedway on Saturday July 20 will be the track’s Crate Late Model ($1,000 to win), Street Stock, and Mini-Stock divisions.

The visit by the Southern All Star Racing Series to Magnolia Motor Speedway will be the tour’s only stop at the ultra modern Columbus, MS facility in 2013 and marks only the tour’s second ever visit to the track. The tour first visited “The Mag” on Memorial Day weekend in 2012 and 2012 Southern All Star Racing Series champion Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN was victorious in that contest.

Among those drivers expected from the Southern All Star Racing Series stable of cars include series points leader Riley Hickman of Chattanooga, TN, Mike Weeks of Friendsville, TN, Mark Rosner of Rockford, TN, Bret Holmes of Munford, AL, Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL and Bo Shirley of Gadsden, AL, along with a strong array of talented local and regional racing stars such as Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL, William Thomas of Phenix City, AL, Stacy Caldwell of Nettleton, MS, Chad McCool of Millport, AL, Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS, Jamie Tollison of Kosciusko, MS, Kurt Radojcsics of Pontotoc, MS, Steven Hester of Fayette, AL, Caleb Myers of Columbus, MS, Tony Shelton of Steens, MS, Tim Parker of Moundbille, AL, Klint Byars of Calhoun City, MS, plus many more are expected.

Activities for the Southern All Star Racing Series 10th Annual Coca-Cola Governor’s Cup at Magnolia Motor Speedway on Saturday July 20 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m. and general admission open at 5:00 p.m., while the drivers meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. followed by practice and time trials, with racing set for 7:30 p.m. All times listed are Central Daylight Time. Ticket prices for the 10th Annual Coca-Cola Governor’s Cup at Magnolia Motor Speedway in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35.

The entry fee for the Saturday July 20 event at Magnolia Motor Speedway is $100 and can be made payable to the Southern All Star Racing Series. The tire rule is exclusively Hoosier Tires and the only compounds eligible to be used are the Hoosier 1350, 1450, and 1600 compounds.
