‘THE JUNKMAN” WAYNE HUGHES WINS “THE MOUNTAIN STATE 30”: NEXT STOP ELKINS!

Apple Grove, WV July 15, 2013~ Mother Nature reared her head again this weekend in the region but the ADRA DirtMasters presented by Suddenlink (www.suddenlink.com) rolled into Hanover, WV and lit up the Thunder Mountain Speedway in front of a packed house anyway. Thunder Mountain Speedway (www.racethundermountain.com ) does not run a weekly super late class so the fans were fired up to see some high powered racing and the DirtMasters did not disappoint! “The Junk Man” Wayne Hughes won the “Mountain State 30” in the #1H Rocket after taking the QuickTime Suspensions Fast Time Award. Hughes started 2nd in the Dash as a result of the redraw giving Chris Meadows in the #33 Rocket a chance to flex his muscle with a win in the Dash. Meadows went on to finish 2nd behind Hughes in the feature. Frankie Johnston in the #2J Swartz chassis would take heat 2. Rookie of the Year points leader, Bryan Casey, in the #25 Racers In Christ sponsored Lazer chassis takes over the points lead in the ADRA DirtMasters Challenge Series with a 3rd place finish in the feature.

Chris Meadows edged out Casey for the 2nd place in the feature after making a strong bid for the lead early on. David Breeding took the Dominator Performance Hard Charger Award home in his GMPP 604 powered #555 Barry Wright chassis with a 4th place finish. Jeremy Livingood in the #00 would round out the top 5. The ADRA DirtMasters Mid-Season Championship presented by Suddenlink will be held at the Elkins Raceway in Elkins, WV this Friday July 19th and Saturday July20th as part of the Budweiser All-Star Memorial Weekend. The event will feature the 3rd Annual Jim Hitt Memorial on Friday paying $5000 to win and $300 to start. Saturday brings the 3rd Annual Richard Skidmore Memorial paying $10,000 to win and $500 to start. The weekend promises to be a start studded event as many racers throughout the region have already committed to attending the ADRA Mid-Season Championship. www.elkinsraceway.net

“The ADRA DirtMasters is purposely designed to attract drivers throughout the season,” explained Series Competition Coordinator Rocky Estep. “By scoring drivers on their best 10 finishes of the year the program allows drivers who work shift work or cannot travel to some of the events to participate in the point battle competitively. The ADRA makes a conscious effort to be a blue collar series with limited travel and affordable rules. ”

Elkins Raceway will open the gates at 6PM both nights with racing at 7:30 PM. Pits will open at 4PM. Admission Friday night is $10 for General Admission and $30 for the Pits. Saturday is $15 for General Admission and $35 for the Pits. The ADRA DirtMasters also makes a conscious effort to bring the best racing in the region to our fans at a family friendly price.
