CARTERSVILLE, GA – Several Top 10 drivers reached the 14 week mark and made big moves in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings after Week 19 competition. One thing that remained the same was that teammates Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS are the top two drivers.

The weekly shuffle of drivers moving in and out of the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings is expected to continue for the next few weeks, as more drivers continue to earn full points before they reach the 14 week mark of their respective seasons, Ten of the top 11 drivers in the point standings have now reached the 14 week mark.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point leader Daspit has a best 14 week total 693 points, seven point away from a perfect 14 week point total of 700. Daspit has a series-leading 11 wins, a series-leading 21 top five finishes, and 22 top ten finishes in 24 races driving the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star.

Daspit was able to net two points in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 19 action with a second-place finish on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA.

Lee is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 677 points after three wins, 20 top five finishes and 22 top ten finishes in 25 races driving the Billy Riels Racing GRT. Lee finished second on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS to net eight points.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS drove the MP Trucking Trak-Star to his seventh win of the season on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS in his 14th week of competition. That vaulted Palasini up to the third spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 668 points after seven wins and 11 top five finishes in 15 races.

Robby Moore of Brosley, MO moved up to the fourth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings in his 14th week of competition with a fourth-place finish on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR driving the Custom Race Cars Trak-Star. Moore has 665 points after one win, 14 top five finishes and 18 top ten finishes in 18 races.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS is fifth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 657 points after two wins, 11 top five finishes and 18 top ten finishes in 25 races. Scarbrough finished third on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in the Villa South Trak-Star to net seven points.

Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY took his third win of the season on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway driving the SGR Equipment Rocket to shoot up to the sixth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings. Glisson reached the 14 week mark of his season with 641 points after three wins, ten top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 15 races.

Bobby Jordan remains in the Top 10 of the points chase after finishing second on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway driving the Henderson Waste and Recycling Trak-Star to net 24 points. Jordan is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 634 points after eight top five finishes and 10 top ten finishes in 19 races.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL did not compete in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 19 action, but remains eighth with 626 points. Dudley has seven wins, 13 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 14 races over 13 weeks driving the Zaxby’s Rocket. Dudley still has one more week to earn full points.

Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA reached the 14 week mark of his season with his third win of the season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway driving the Sparks Motorsports Special. That moved Trosclair back into the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 623 points after three wins, nine top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 17 races.

Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 620 points after six top five finishes and 18 top ten finishes in 24 races. Mackmer finished fifth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in the Mackmer Home Buyers Special to net five points.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 19 action, Cliff Williams of Star, MS drove the Star Plumbing Trak-Star to his second win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park, and Chris Jewell of Houston, TX took his first win of the season on Saturday night at Battleground Speedway in Houston, TX driving the Jewell Racing Special.

Jamey Boland of Cuba, AL won the first of two double features on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Boland Performance Trak-Star for his first NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series victory of the season. Justin McRee of Cottondale, AL won his fourth race of the season in the second feature driving the High Roller Race Cars Special.

Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 19 events at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO were rained out.

Two-time Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL continues to lead the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge after Williams, Palasini and Boland gave them their 35th, and 36th, and 37th wins of the season.

Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV holds the second spot after Glisson gave them their 21st win of the season. The defending and four-time NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR is third with 19 wins. Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fourth with six wins.

Also participating in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge and still looking for their first wins are Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN, TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN, and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN.
