    Doesn't the new beehive sprring require a differnt rocker arm than the old style i was told if your engine had the black rockers you were ok but if you had the silver ones you had to change the rockers which would put you spending around 800 for the swap any truth to this

    when you say "black" rockers the only thing I can imagine you referring to is the roller

    both rocker bodies are silver

    the new style rocker does have a black roller when it is new but may lose that finish in time

    new style rockers have a 1 piece roller (including alignment sides)
    old style rockers utilize thrust washers for alignment

    its best to use new style rockers on the intake valves because of clearance between the retainer and rocker body-------sometimes the old rocker will clear but they are always too close for my likeing
