Attention UMP Street Stock Drivers,
In the interest of maintaining a fair and level playing field for any upcoming and future events at Vermilion County Speedway involving the UMP Street Stock division, several changes have been made with regards to rule enforcement.
These changes will take affect and be implemented during the August 18 event titled “ Kickapoo Klash” and will remain so for all future events at VCS promoted by Middlefork Motorsports Promotions.
To help with the rule enforcement process, VCS has hired a tech inspector to help with the new procedures and handle the actual inspections of each UMP Street Stock at the track. VCS will continue to use and follow the rules as stated by the World Racing Group, under the banner of United Midwestern Promoters ( UMP ). Please remember some rules are subject to interpretation and VCS maintains the right to interpret those rules as they see fit.
1) All UMP Street Stocks will be required to pass a pre-race inspection. A designated area will be established for this inspection and all cars must report with hoods off to that area when notified by officials. When inspection is complete, driver or car representative will participate in the pill draw, providing that car passes inspection. Pre-race inspection will include 4 main areas of concern (Carb. ,transmission, tires, body). Cars failing to meet criteria will not be allowed to pill draw and will not compete in the nights scheduled event. NO EXCEPTIONS
2) Any UMP Street Stock reporting to the pre-race inspection will be assumed as legal until proven otherwise. Any car failing inspection at any time during event will not receive refunds or compensation. Any car failing post- race inspection will forfeit all points and or winnings for that event.
3) Inspections will continue throughout the course of each night’s events. Cars will be inspected randomly and in no particular order. Any driver, crew, or car representative refusing inspection, or interfering with the inspection process in any way will cause that car to be removed from competition.
4) Post-race inspection: Top 4 cars in the feature event will report
immediately to designated inspection area after scaling. Driver of that car
will remove hood and allow tech inspector to complete necessary
inspections. During the inspection process, at no time will anyone be
allowed in the designated inspection area other than track officials, tech
inspector, and driver of each car. NO EXCEPTIONS! Driver will remain in the
immediate vicinity of his or her car and will stay there until the inspection
process has been completed. In the event a crew member or car
representative enters the inspection area before inspections have been
made, that car will be immediately disqualified and driver and car will
forfeit all winnings and points for that event. Failure of driver and car to
report immediately after scaling will be considered post-race inspection
refusal and result in disqualification.
5) Any UMP Street Stock event paying more than $400.00 to the winner will
require top 4 cars in feature event to remove distributor. Procedure for this
will be as follows: Top 4 cars will immediately report to designated tech
area after scaling. After tech inspector declares each car legal, top 4 cars
will return to their individual pit area and remove distributor for further
inspection. Each car will have the option of loading on the trailer before this
inspection takes place. Distributor must be removed within 20 minutes of
leaving the designated inspection area. Any refusal or failure to complete
this process will result in disqualification and forfeiture of all winnings and
points for that event.
Note* Once car and crew has entered the pit area and signed in as racing
competitor, it will be assumed by VCS that this car legal to compete. If that car is
found to be illegal to race, no refunds shall be granted to driver and or crew
members. As a courtesy, VCS if requested, will conduct an inspection prior to
entry into the racing facility for those who are unsure of the legality of their car.
A request for this inspection must be made no later than 1 hour prior to the
designated start time for hot laps.
