Richmond, KY – Richmond Raceway Promoters are preparing for the next event of the season; Sportsman Nationals, on Saturday, August 24, 2013. The Sportsman drivers will be competing for a $1000 payday while all other classes will be competing as well. In addition to that, all divisions will also have another feature event this weekend since the features were rained out at the last event. That means double features in all classes. The first feature is double points for all classes and the second feature in each division will be regular points with the $1000 Sportsman Nationals as the headlines.

Gates in the grandstand area open at 6:00, admission prices for this weekend are $14 for adults, children 6-12 are $3 and 5 and under are FREE! On the pit side the gates open at 4:30. Admission prices are still FREE to children 5 and under, $5 for children 6-12 and $32 for ages 13 and up. Pill draw ends promptly at 6:00 with the drivers meeting set for 6:30 and hot laps shortly after. Raceceivers are mandatory for every driver in all divisions at Richmond Raceway. These will be checked randomly throughout the evening. Points standings haven’t changed since Butterball™ because of the rain, so points will be updated after the August 24 event with double points added for the rainout and regular points added to the total after the August 24 regular scheduled event.

Be certain to make this race to see double the features on this Saturday Night of dirt track racing. Sportsman Nationals has been won by the racer starting the race in last position 2 out of the past 3 years. So it’s sure to be a great race! Still upcoming this season is the Season Championship race on September 21, 2013. We’ll see you trackside at 328 Greens Crossing Road, Richmond, KY 40475.
