CARTERSVILLE, GA – A reshuffling among the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings highlighted Week 21 competition and a competitive stretch run in the last six weeks of the season has been set up for the $10,000 Championship.

Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS continues to lead the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 696 points, just four points away from a perfect total of 700 points that represents 14 50-point wins. Daspit has 12 wins, 22 top five finishes and 24 top ten finishes in 27 races.

Daspit helped his cause on Saturday night with his series-leading 12th win of the season at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA driving the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star. Daspit was able to net three points with the win, and he will be trying to net on a 48 in Week 22 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series competition.

There is a new challenger now behind Daspit in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings, as Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS drove the MP Trucking Trak-Star to a fourth-place finish to net six points on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS to move up to the second spot in the standings.

Palasini has a best 14 week total of 682 points after seven wins and 13 top five finishes in 18 races. Palasini has the opportunity to net another nine points in Week 22 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series action. Just one point behind Palasini are Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS, who are tied for the third spot with 681 points.

Dudley has the tie-breaker advantage with eight wins, to three wins for Lee. Dudley finished sixth on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS driving the Zaxby’s Rocket to net five points. Dudley has eight wins, 14 top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 16 races. Dudley will be trying to net on a 45 in Week 22 action.

Lee finished second on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway driving the Billy Riels Racing GRT to net four points. Lee has three wins, 21 top five finishes and 24 top ten finishes in 27 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series races. Lee will be trying to net on a 47 in Week 22 competition.

Robby Moore of Brosley, MO is fifth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 668 points. Moore was able to net three points with a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN driving the Custom Race Cars Trak-Star. Moore has one win, 15 top five finishes and 19 top ten finishes in 19 races, and will be trying to net on a 46 in Week 22 action.

Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS are tied for the sixth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings, as each driver has a best 14 week total of 664 points. Glisson has the tie-breaker advantage with three wins to two wins for Scarbrough.

Glisson drove the SGR Equipment Rocket to a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports to net six points. Glisson has three wins, 11 top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 17 races. Glisson will be trying to net on a 41 in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 22 competition.

Scarbrough finished second on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS driving the Villa South Trak-Star to net seven points. Scarbrough has two wins, 12 top five finishes and 19 top ten finishes in 27 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series races. Scarbrough will be trying to net on a 44 in Week 22 action.

Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN used his final week to earn full points to turn in a third-place finish on Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports driving the Ronnie Cooper Trucking Rocket and moved into the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings by settling into the eighth spot with a 14 week total of 660 points.

Cooper has one win, 11 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 14 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series races. Now Cooper will begin netting points by trying to replace the lowest weekly point total of 41 among his 14 with a higher one.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS finished outside the Top 10 on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsport Park in The Strength Center Trak-Star to earn 41 points, but he used that to net on a 25 and gain 16 points to move up to the ninth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 642 points.

Arnold will have another opportunity to move up in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings, as he has another 25 to net on in Week 22 competition. Arnold has six wins, 12 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 21 races.

Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 639 points after nine top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 21 races driving the Henderson Waste and Recycling Trak-Star. Jordan did not net any points in Week 21 action and will try to net on a 41 in Week 22.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 21 action, defending NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Champion Chase Washington of Houlka, MS continued his courageous comeback from kicking cancer’s butt by winning his second race of the season on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in the Jerry Inmon Racing Special.

Cliff Williams of Star, MS picked his third NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park driving the Star Plumbing Trak-Star. Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA drove the Sparks Motorsports Special to his fourth win of the season on Saturday night at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX.

Two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS took his third win of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the McDuffie Racing Trak-Star. Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL grabbed win number five of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Adam Gauldin Racing GRT.

Tait Davenport of Benton, KY drove the Murtco, Inc. Special to his fourth NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports. Week 21 Saturday night races at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL and at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL were rained out. Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL did not report their Week 21 results.

Two-time Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL continues to lead the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge after Daspit, Williams, and McDuffie gave them their 39th, 40th, and 41st wins of the season.

Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV is second in the Chassis Manufactures Challenge standings with 24 victories. The defending and four-time NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR is third after Gauldin gave them their 20th win. Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fourth with six wins.

Also participating in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge and still looking for their first wins are Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN, TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN, and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN.
