Berck wins at Adams County extends points lead


Kyle Berck made a late race charge, grabbed the lead and won another SLMR feature, this time at the Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa. Starting eighth, “the Marquette Missle” advanced to third on lap 14, second on lap 17 and took the lead on lap 20 before cruising to another win. The win was worth $2,000 thanks to extra monies posted by series sponsor Jay Burdic and the Malvern Trust & Savings Bank.

Thirteenth starting Jason O'Brien also moved through the pack taking third on lap 19 and then moving into second on lap 20 to finish runner-up to Berck. J. C. Wyman finished third, Travis (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)es fourth (in Al Humphrey's #6) and Bill Leighton, Jr. fifth. 28 cars signed in for the event.

Berck now has a 30 point lead over Tad Pospisil in the Malvernbank.com “Race for the Safe” 1036 to 1006. Bill Leighton, Jr. is third, Robbie Anderson fourth and Justin Gregg fifth. The SLMR Series now has a double header this coming weekend racing on Friday, August 23 at Raceway Park in Jefferson, South Dakota and then on Satuirday, August 24 at the Junction Motor Speedway at McCool Junction.
