    Fan Appreciation Night Next on the Docket at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday September 13

    Junction City, KY-August 25, 2013- With the Friday Night Rumble now in the rear view mirror, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz will take off the next couple of weeks before returning to action at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday September 13 with Fan Appreciation Night. There will be no racing at the track on August 30 or September 6.

    Of note, Ponderosa Speedway would like to sincerely thank all the racers and race fans for their overwhelming support of our most recent event, the Friday Night Rumble. From the great racing action on the track to the record setting crowd that watched the festivities, the track in sincerely humbled and appreciative of everyone’s support and hope we can continue to entertain you as often as you can join us.

    Ponderosa Speedway is planning lots of activities for Fan Appreciation Night on Friday September 13. Adult general admission will be only $10 for this event, while all children ages 12 and under will be admitted FREE in the general admission area with a paid adult. Hot dogs will available at the concession area all night for $1 each. After time trials, the track is going to have the drivers pull their race cars out onto the frontchute of the track and fans will be allowed to go down onto to the track and meet and greet with their favorite drivers. Lastly, during intermission, there will be bicycle races for the children ages 12 and under and they will be divided into various age groups with winners receiving a trophy. More announcements concerning Fan Appreciation Night on September 13 will be made in the next week or so concerning this event.

    The Friday September 13 racing event at Ponderosa Speedway will be Fan Appreciation Night and all four weekly divisions will be in action as the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models, and D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman will all be slinging the clay and providing great racing excitement. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and may be rented at the track during driver registration and pill draw, which closes at 7:00 p.m.

    Activities for the Friday September 13 Fan Appreciation Night event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:20 p.m. Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag after the meet and greet with the race fans after time trials are completed. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the Friday September 13 Fan Appreciation Night in the general admission area will be $10 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE with a paid adult (this is for the remainder of the season on children ages 12 and under). A pit pass will be $30.

    Ponderosa Speedway last raced on August 23 with a great night of racing competition and awesome fan turnout and feature event winners that evening included Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, and Glen Hounshell, Jr. of Mount Vernon, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman. The Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models had the night off.

    Current track championship point leaders heading into the Friday September 13 Fan Appreciation Night event are Victor Lee of Danville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models, and Glen Hounshell, Jr. of Mount Vernon, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman.

    Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and will present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday evenings from April through mid-October of the 2013 race season.
