stock type rocker question sbc

what rpm are you guys turning with stock type steel rocker arms on a SB chevy? How much is to much?

i turn mine 7000 or so,..might wanta check the push rod cup for ware every now an then,.if it gets to ware'in thin it can shoot a rod threw end of rocker!! make sure there getting good oil flow!

I am running roller tips now but I have been running stock type rockers for many years. We turned the engine 6500 rpm on regular basis and up to 7000 with minimal trouble. I do buy the Comp Cams Nitrocarb rockers though, the cheap one will not last.
