CARTERSVILLE, GA – With three weeks left in the 27-week 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season, Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS will be taking victory laps having clinched the $10,000 Championship with a perfect 14 week point total of 700 points. But there are still 16 drivers behind him with a chance to finish in one of the Top 10 points fund-paying positions.

Week 25 of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season will see ten races in six different states. The action begins this Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR and at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS.

Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS will highlight the eight-race Saturday night schedule of NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 25 competition with the second round of the I-20 Challenge paying $1,000-to-win.

Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 25 events are also scheduled for Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, St.. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, and West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 691 points. Palasini is battling for the second spot with Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS and Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL. Palasini can earn a possible season total of 697 points by netting on a 47, a 48, and a 49.

Lee would like to move up to the second spot behind his teammate Daspit to give Billy Riels Racing a one-two in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings. Lee has a best 14 week total of 687 points, and can earn a possible 693 points by netting on three 48s. Dudley has a best 14 week total of 686 points and can net on a 45, a47, and a 48 to earn a possible 696 points.

Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY is fifth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 673 points, and can net on two 44s and a 47 to earn a possible total of 688 points. Cliff Williams of Star, MS and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS are tied for the sixth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings, as each driver has a best 14 week total of 669 points.

Williams has the mathematical potential for a third-place finish in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings, as he can net on two 41s and a 46 for a potential season total of 691 points. Scarbrough will be looking to net on three 46s and the potential total of 681 points.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS and Robby Moore of Brosley, MO are tied for the eighth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings, as each driver has a best 14 week total of 668 points. Arnold has the mathematical possibility for a third-place finish by netting on a 41 and two 44s to bring his season total to 689 points. Moore will be looking to net on three 46s and a possible season total of 680 points.

Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 total of 665 points, and can net on two 44s and a 46 for a potential total of 681 points. There are seven drivers in the second ten of the standings that still have the potential to move into the Top 10 over the next three weeks.

Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS, Roger Witt of Batesville, AR, Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS, Brian Ponder of Talladega, AL, Joey Smith of Pomona, MO, Gavin Landers of Batesville, AR, and Randy Boyd of Marion, MS are 11th through 17th respectively in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings, but they all have a mathematical chance to net enough points over the next three weeks to earn a Top 10 finish.

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 29. Drivers can compete in as many events available to then each week, only their best event point total for that week will count.

Once a driver reaches the 14-week point in their NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season, they will begin to net points, by trying to replace the lowest weekly point total with a higher one. The Weekly Point Average is the average of their 14-week total, or up to the 14-week mark. A perfect point total is 700, and a perfect WPA is 50.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet OMG WRS National Champion will earn $10,000 and the Top 10 drivers in the final National point standings will also receive cash awards from the point fund. Drivers will also compete for an additional point fund at each series sanctioned track.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.
