Lee, Neat, England, and Hackworth, Jr. Fan Appreciation Night Winners at Ponderosa Speedway

Junction City, KY-September 13, 2013- Ponderosa Speedway would return to action on Friday evening with Fan Appreciation Night and a $1,000 to win main event for the Smith Automotive Machine Shop Pro Late Models presented by T and K Trucking and Victor Lee of Danville, KY would take the win in the Pro Late Model main event. Other feature winners for the evening included Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Michael England of Glasgow, KY in Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, and Allen Hackworth, Jr. of Waco, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman.

Victor Lee would take the lead at the start of the 25 lap Smith Automotive Machine Shop Pro Late Model feature event and would never relinquish the top spot in route the $1,000 payday in the T and K Trucking 25 contest. Lee would be in a guest role for the evening as he piloted the Randy and Dusty Maybrier owned Randy’s Auto Body/Asberry Excavating/Integrity Metals/Carrier’s Car Care/Xtreme Style Signs and Graphics sponsored #1 C.J. Rayburn Race Car, GM604 powered entry. Tyler Allen would take runner-up honors, while the remainder of the top five would be P.J. Feistritzer, Gary Yeager, and Remington Gill. Nine entries would see Lee set a new track record for the division in Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials with a lap of 13.662 seconds and Lee also won the Colston Paving heat.

The 25 lap Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model main event would see Dustin Neat jump to the early lead and pull away to almost a full straightaway lead by the end of the race and eventually see the checkered flag first aboard the Danny and Gene Hatcher owned Hatcher’s Auto Sales/Tim Logan Racing/JAACO Mining/Taylor Trucking/Hatcher Properties sponsored #6 Barry Wright Race Car powered by a Vic Hill Race Engine. Ricky Arms, Justin Rattliff, and Victor Lee would engage in a very entertaining battle for the second spot over the final 10 laps of the contest, with Rattliff working past Arms on the final lap in turn three to garner the second position, with Arms and Lee taking third and fourth positions, while Tim Tungate completed the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Jeff Watson, Clarence Belcher, Jeff Rawlings, Dennis Barton, and Jerry Rutherford. Sixteen entries would see Michael Chilton as the Bob Allen Motor Mall top qualifier at 13.465 seconds, while the Country 100.9 MIKE FM heat races were scored by Arms and Neat.

Michael England would snag the lead at the start of the 20 lap Bluegrass Drug Store Modified main event and lead the entire distance, surviving five caution flags and a late-race restart and charge from Tommy Bailey to secure the victory in the seat of the Kerry Trowbridge owned Automotive Specialists/ Gary Johnson Heating and Air/Pro Crafter/Tri County Oil/Dexter’s Gun and Ammo sponsored #16 Lightning Chassis mount. Bailey would finish in the second position, while Benji Lee, Elliott Despain, and Levi Kissinger would round out the top five. Completing the top ten would be Matthew Jordan, 17th starting Gerald Haynes, Jr., Brad Schlosser, Brandon Flannery, and Brent Denny. Twenty-one entries would see Bailey as the Bob Allen Motor Mall top qualifier at 14.682 second, while the Inter County Energy heat race victories went to Lee, England, and Chris Johnson.

Glen Hounshell, Jr. would lead the first five laps of the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman feature before spinning his mount in turn four and being contacted heavily by then fourth place running Donnie Sullivan, ending Hounshell, Jr.’s night. This would hand the lead over to Allen Hackworth, Jr. and he would proceed to score his first victory at Ponderosa Speedway behind the wheel of the Jones Garage/Willis Fencing sponsored #33 Chevy Monte Carlo ride. Jeremy Howard would take second position, while Troy Scott would place third. Sullivan recovered to finish fourth, while Glen Branham would complete the top five. Twelve entries would see Hackworth, Jr. set a new track record for the division in Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials with a lap of 15.422 seconds, while Northside RV heat race wins fell to Hounshell, Jr., and Derek Bottoms.
