    Question Tire question

    Ok here goes-open tire rule- use hoosier 1100, 1200, 1300, 1325
when running on a heavy track do you typically want to run a softer, medium or harder tire?
What tires would i start out wuth for say qualifing, then heat and b-main race and then a-main?
This all saying the track will get dry over the nite!!!
Could i use just one compound the whole nite?

As a rule, softer rubber on heavy tracks.

If you are somewhat of a budget guy, just forget the 1100 and start with 1200. It depends on how much heat the track builds and how abrasive it is. There is a chance you could do well with 1300s all night.

1300 will not perform well on tracks showing ANY black unless it is a track that doesn't produce much heat in the tire.

Yes on a budget for this one special race.(end of season) Track is non abrasive, Some of the front runners I have seen are running AR 23's or the Hoosier 1100's, but I'm thinking they are switching up for the Main. Just looking for a tire that will do good in heavy(qualifying), but will perform better when the track starts to take rubber. basically a all around tire if there's such a thing........

    Why doesn't a 1300 work on a Black track, assuming A main , 50 odd lapper.
Are you talking RR,LR or RF or all 1300 tires.
Which tire would work better in this situation.

It comes down to how hot are you going to get it. It is pretty tough on a "cold" track.

Sounds like Clarys Madness race this weekend. 1200 will work it will only get dusty maybe a little grey/black. 1200 are you best bet because the 1100 might give up and have a 1300 and 13250 or 1350 for a RR or LR. Some are on AR 23 in hot laps just to keep laps off their Race tires.
