9 inch floater for a metric monte

I'm looking to buy a floater for a 85 monte purestock. I'm not sure what width to buy 58" 60"? or a different length. what are the advantages/disadvantages of the different lengths. What about offsets?

Should get a 60 or 62. I had a 60 in mine couldn't use a 4" offset though, with a 62 you could. I always used a 3" offset on the RR.

I had a 60in floater in my car with pinion center and ran a 3in offset on the lr and 4in offset on the rr, it got bent i now have a 58in floater in my car also with pinion center and i still run 4in rr and now 2in lr

So there is no real advantage/disadvantage to any width, you just make up the difference with different wheel backspacing?

Just make sure you get one narrow enough on the RR that you can tuck the RR wheel in until you almost have a 4"backspace (or whatever the max backspace wheel is that you will use on the RR) wheel hitting the frame at max car roll. This will give you the most adjustment choices with your wheel spacing.

I actually ran a 4 1/2 inch Aero backspace wheel and occasionally it would hit the frame. I will try to remember to measure my housing next time I'm at the shop.
