    Default Bite!

Will somebody define "bite" for me. I would like a good quality explanation from someone who is well versed in the subject. (Not some hack pitching his opinion.)

As a follow up question I've seen the bite expressed as pounds. And in doing some other reading it also looks like the poundage should be more accurately expressed as either positive (+) or negative (-).

    Thanks for the help guys.

P.S.: If it's explained in one of Steve Smith's books please let me know which one.

    bite and wedge = same
when someone says they are running 40# of bite or 40# of wedge...... the LR tire weighs 40# more than the RR tire....
when you read -40, they are running 40# of RR
De wedge is the same as -40, or RR more than the LR....
Now, what is does and how it effects the car will fill up a book...
