    Default 327 motor question

    have a 327 engine 60 over 5,7 rods flat top pinstons steel crank votec heads 062 castings came off 602 engine whats the best cam for this set 2b carb must pull aleast 15 lbs of vac at 1000 rpm running in a e mod or would this be any good on gas rules states it has to be 5.7 rods and 2bl 202 and 1.6 vales on gas

    on a short track 1/4 mile or smaller just run a little more gear to help the short stroke get off the corner.

    Yes^^^^^^

    Smaller motor will have a harder time getting vac, be careful on the cam selection. Stay away from any off the shelf cams; this will require a special grind. If you already have the 327 and you can run any gear ( no max rpm rule), go for it. Will be a little easier to hook up in the corner, just run its guts out the back door. If you can mill the heads and get the pistons to the deck.

    I'd use a 3.48 stroke. It should make more power. Those vacuum rule cams aren't known for setting the world on fire so cubic inch will help. JMO.

    there are some off the shelf cams that will work for that vacuum rule...we have the same rule and ive done some testing be glad to help.
