easy oil pan question

Will an oil pan and pump from a 99 ranger fit a 1978 block? Ill save myself the step of pulling the pan off my backup motor to check if you guys know quick. Thanks!

I believe the oil pump in the 99 ranger has a different pump which runs off the aux drive, not a dist drive. In fact the 99 does not have a place for a distributor. It is all elect. The pan is aluminum and I don't think it will work either unless you change the rear main cap and it uses the ribbon oil pan gasket.
