The Daytona 500 paid Earnhardt a little over $1.5 million to win which figures out to just over $3000 per mile.

The Eldora Million paid Donnie Moran $20,000 a mile. Actually it's more than that because Eldora is not a full half mile.

The Dream figures out to $2000 a mile, or a little more due to the track not being a full half mile.

Knoxville Sprint Nationals pays $150,000 to win which figures out to $6000 per mile.

Not sure what your point is and I hesitate to engage you because you generally don't know what you're talking about. And, don't let your head explode due to an open wheel race paying more per mile than any annual dirt late model or e-mod race. LOL!!

None of this has anything to do with the topic.
Litey, read the quoted post above very slowly and very carefully. I posted this two days ago. It clearly states the Million was the highest payout per mile of all the races listed. I'll buy that completely.

The problem with using the Million as an example is that it was a one time deal contested about 13 years ago and obviously no race of any kind has been run since with that type payout. Earl did run a race called The Mopar Million for wingless 410 sprint cars but he spread the payout over the whole field instead of $1,000,000 to the winner and $50,000 for 2nd place.

If we're talking about races run yearly (that means every year! LOL!!) then the answer is a race that pays $6,000 per mile and is an open wheel show consisting of 50 laps on a half mile track known as The Knoxville Sprint Car Nationals!! However, The Indy 500 pays just under $5,000 per mile for 200 LAPS ON A 2.5 MILE RACETRACK!!!

If we're comparing apples to apples of races that run every year the Knoxville Sprint Car Nationals is the winner with The Indy 500 second.

The fact that the 2 highest per mile races are open wheel races should serve to pi$$ you off even more!! Hehehehehehe!!!

    Now, for God's sake.............................SHUT UP!!!
