    Default at a stand still

    Motor is back firing on idiol and when giving it gas. Change distributor still waz doing it cleaned the carb out and still back firing and all wires are correct so where would you go from here. ..any advuce appreciated

    i would check the valves, might be to tight. Intake valves may not be not sealing against the seat.

    Maybe have a lobe goin flat?

    likely a flat cam if its a fresh build and you didnt use breakin oil..

    It's not afresh build it has bout 16 nights on it and it hadn't started to do this till bout two weeks ago... I had been moving it since January to put new skin on ..

    running lean will make them pop thru thr carb

    Take the filter off and cut it open, see if a lobe went flat

    Just pop the valve covers off and see which rocker aint moving that much when its running.

    If the motor was cracked on the inside would it be running worse than what it is

    It would probly be getting water in the oil and vice versa

    Pop the valve cover, crank the car and see if all rocker arms are moving to check for a flat lobe on a cam.

    Try removing one plug wire at a time while it is running to find out which cylinder has the problem.

    intake valve stuck open..probably got too much condensation in it froze the guide,better pull the valvecovers and bump it around to check movement.
    then pull the heads..
