    Default Carb help...

Motorcraft 2100 "121" carb on my 2.3L, it will NOT idle down, rev it to any RPM over idle & it stays there for at least a minute or so then ever so slowly idles back down. There is 2 return springs on it & linkage is NOT bound anywhere. Just put in new needle/seat, diaphragm pump assy. & new base gasket, didnt help. I am carburetor ignorant so any help greatly appreciated.

I'd start with the basics, gaskets correct for model?, right side up? Float level & Drop correct? Vacuum leaks? linkage hooked up right? Gotta be something simple, I've caught myself many times making a simple error...
    Good Luck!

BTW, Mike's Carburetor has a series of 5 short videos on UTube showing a complete rebuild of a 2100 with hints. Well worth a look:

If you run a distributor, check the springs on the advance weights. Check the idle with a timing light.
