Jeff Curl captures $1000 to win UMP Modified Indiana Icebreaker at Browntown, IN

Saturday Evening kicked off the much anticipated 2014 season. Coming off a strong conclusion to the 2013 season and flying a new paint scheme incorporating some new sponsors including Champion Spark Plugs, excitement could not have been higher for the Indiana IceBreaker at Brownstown, IN Speedway.

Fourty-four drivers signed in to battle for the $1000 top prize. I drew a decent number and started 4th in my heat race. I put pressure on the leaders from the middle groove and was able to swing around everyone in route to the heat race win. We ran after the Lucas Oil Latemodel 50 lap feature and tire choice was in question as i would start on the pole for our 25 lap event. All the right decisions were made and I avoided the bumps to lead all the laps an pickup my 1st win of the season holding off fellow Bob Pierce Race Car driver Nick Allen.
