What heads?

Ok, im putting together a 377 and have two options for heads.The options are 215cc iron eagles or 230cc iron eagles,which would be better and why?Running it in a mod and its a 13.5 to 1 motor.thank you for your help

What RPM range are you going to run the engine?

If you are running gas, I'd probably go with the 215's with those RPM's. We ran a 377 on gas with the 230 Iron Eagles in a Super Stock for a couple of seasons, but we turned the engine 8,000-8,2000 and it was not soft on the bottom.

I agree if you are only gonna run 7200 I would stay with the 215's the engine will be more responsive at that rpm with the smaller heads.

I ran 215s on a 377 and it was a very competitive motor...good bottom end (but not overkill) and plenty of room to go 7200 to 7700 RPM. The 230 would work also, if you had the right cam numbers and intake runner size. But the 215s seem like the best match.
