Default Black Soot on plugs and end of tailpipe

I have noticed i been getting alot of black soot on the plugs and out of the exhaust onto the car bottom. Car runs real good...Stock class 355 chevy motor, 4 valve relief flattop, 450 /450 cam, Stock Willys 4412 "lil 500" with wooden slider adaptor on top of '69 cast iron Quadrajet intake...last time i changed plugs i went to a hotter plug with the idea it would burn more fuel in the combustion chamber with the hotter spark plug and not soot up.

If you have black soot on your plugs and in your exhaust you are too rich take some jet out or maybe your float is to high.
