Dennis Erb, Jr. Ends NDRL Run After Long Mid-Atlantic Weekend

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team ventured to the states of Pennsylvania and Virginia over the April 10-13 extended weekend for a trio of high-profile National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) battles. Things kicked off on Thursday night at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pennsylvania with the annual running of the 'PENNational.' Dennis relied on a series provisional to gain access into the $10,000 to win feature event and started the 50-lapper from the outside of the thirteenth row. Unfortunately, the Carpentersville, Illinois star was only able to complete seventeen circuits and was relegated to a twenty-fifth place performance in the 'PENNational.'

Next up for the Dennis Erb Racing team was a trip to the pristine Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia on Saturday evening for the Aaron's 'King of the Commonwealth,' which boasted a hefty $20,000 top prize. Dennis ran second in heat race action at VMS, started the 60-lap main event from the outside of the third row, and eventually recorded a solid ninth place effort in the 'King of the Commonwealth.' On Sunday, the NDRL tripleheader wrapped up with the rain-postponed 'Gunters Honey 50' at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia. Unfortunately, Dennis was not able to transfer into the $10,000 to win feature event. Complete results from the busy weekend can be viewed by clicking on www.thendrl.com.

The #28 team has made the decision this week to pull off the NDRL tour and will put their focus on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the remainder of the 2014 season. With the Lucas Oil gang sitting idle this upcoming weekend, Dennis has earmarked a pair of events in the states of Illinois and Iowa on April 18-19. Up first will be a $2,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Series program on Friday night at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. Saturday’s weekend finale will take the Dennis Erb Racing team to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa for the 6th Annual ‘Slocum 50,’ which boasts a $10,555 payday.
