CARTERSVILLE, GA – After Week 4 of the 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season, Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL continues to lead the National point standings after his fourth straight Top 5 finish on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Gauldin drove the Adam Gauldin Racing GRT to a fifth-place finish and now has 195 points.

Gauldin has two wins and four top five finishes in four races to hold a four-point lead in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings over Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS. Bridgmon’s best finish of the weekend was a third-place showing on Friday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS driving the Robinson Electric Supply Special.

Bridgmon has one win, four top five finishes and five top ten finishes in five NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series starts to total 191 points. Nick Thrash of Meridian, MS is third in the standings with 184 points after one win, two top five finishes and five top ten finishes in five races. Thrash drove the McDevitt Enterprises GRT to a sixth-place finish on Saturday night at The Mag.

Casey Haney of Meridian, MS and Mike Combs of Odenville, AL are tied for the fourth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 182 points apiece. Haney has two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in four starts driving the Sinclair Auto Sales Rocket, and Combs has two top five finishes and four top ten finishes in four races. Combs finished fourth on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL in the Pro Grafx Special.

Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN is sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 181 points after four top five finishes in four races. Cooper drove the Ronnie Cooper Trucking Rocket to a third-place finish on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN.

The Ageless Wonder, 80-year-old Hall of Famer Red Farmer of Hueytown, AL moved up to the seventh spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 173 points after driving the Long-Lewis Ford Special to an eighth-place finish on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track. Farmer has one top five finish and two top ten finishes in four races.

Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 172 points. Sanchagrin has one top five finish and two top ten finishes in five starts driving the Permanent Exterior Solutions Trak-Star.

Trey Wood of Newnan, GA and Kyle Clifton of Ranburne, AL are tied for the ninth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 171 points apiece. Wood has one top five finish and two top ten finishes in four starts driving the Wood Motorsports Warrior. Clifton has one top five finish and three top ten finishes in four starts after driving the Clifton Racing GRT to a ninth-place finish on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 action, Roger Witt of Batesville, AR drove The Chrome Shop Trak-Star to victory on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR. Kyle Shaw of Millport, AL topped a 33-car field to post the win on Friday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway driving the Sweddenberg Logging Trak-Star.

Ryan King of Seymour, TN claimed the $1,000 top prize with a Saturday night win at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN driving the Brian King Roofing Stinger. Neil Baggett of Shannon, MS drove the Montgomery Farms Trak-Star to a $1,000 victory over a 39-car field on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

Chris Holley of Highlands, TX picked up his third win in his three starts this season at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX driving the Holley Racing Special. Michael Page of Douglasville, GA drove the T&T Trucking GRT to the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model win on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track.

Ashley Newman of Ripley, TN was the winner on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN driving the Greg’s Sawmill Special. Cody Smith of Holt, FL took the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model win on Saturday night at Smokey Harris Speedway in Haleburg, AL in the Smith’s Performance Rocket.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS picked up his second straight win on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA driving the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star. Mason Oberkramer of Brosley, MO drove the Corwell Trucking GRT to the win on Saturday night at Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO.

There were two NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 events that did not get to run on Saturday night. Penton Raceway in Penton, AL was rained out, and Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL did not get to run due to a power outage.

There is now a three-way tie for the lead in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge among Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL, Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV, and GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR with five wins apiece.

Trak-Star Race Cars picked up four Week 4 wins from Witt, Shaw, Baggett and Daspit. GRT Race Cars had two wins from Page and Oberkramer. Rocket grabbed a point with a victory from Smith.

Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN are tied for the fourth spot in the chassis standings with one win apiece. TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN is also participating in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge and is still looking for their first win of the 2014 season.
