Brandon Kinzer Collects $4,000 Payday in 201 Win; Nabs Top Ten at Ponderosa!

(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer recorded his first victory in the young 2014 racing season on Thursday night, April 17 at the nearby 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky! The Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals tour rolled into 201 and a strong 32 car field assembled in the pit area. Brandon laid down the fastest lap during the qualifying session, which enabled him to start the 40-lap main event from the pole position. After grabbing the top spot at the drop of the green flag, Brandon held off a strong charge by Jackie Boggs early in the race before ultimately leading from start to finish. At the checkers, BK found himself fist pumping to a $4,000 triumph over Donald McIntosh, Eddie Carrier, Jr., Tim Dohm, and Gregg Satterlee!

On Friday evening, April 18, the OMG Spring Nationals took the #18 team to Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky for another $4,000 to win battle. Brandon did not lock himself in directly through qualifying at "The Pond," but did grab the second transfer spot through his consolation race. After starting the 40-lapper from the outside of the seventh row, the Allen, Kentucky ace was able to advance past four competitors en route to a respectable tenth place effort. “It was good to get back into victory lane again, especially in a big race at 201, which is so close to home,” quoted Kinzer earlier this week via telephone. “We have been working really closely with Jimmy and Chris (Mars) on some new stuff and the car really seemed to respond favorably to it at both places this past weekend. I felt like our MB Customs cars last year were good enough to win several races and for one reason or another, it just didn’t happen. Hopefully, 2014 will be a different story and there will be several more trips to victory lane in store for Kinzer Motorsports throughout the season!”

While the Kinzer Motorsports team will enjoy the upcoming April 25-26 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition, they will be busy prepping their MB Customs machines for a big doubleheader weekend at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama on May 2-3. On Friday night at TST, an unsanctioned program will be held and a $2,000 top prize will be on the line. The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) will ten roll into the track deemed as the “Hornets Nest” on Saturday evening and a $4,000 payday will be up for grabs.
