    World of Outlaws Late Model Series $10,000 to Win at 201 Speedway THIS Friday, May 16

    (May 11, 2014) SITKA, KY – 201 Speedway owner Jarrod Breeding along with track promoter Tony Sturgill and their staff are excited to welcome the World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series on Friday, May 16. This will mark the first-ever visit by the national tour to the 3/8-mile Eastern Kentucky oval as they present the 2nd Annual Moonshine Runners 50.

    The WoO Late Model Series will see the Super Late Model division in a complete program of racing action that includes Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000 to win/$700 to start A-Main. Also in competition on Friday night, May 16 will be the Four Cylinder Stock division in their Inaugural Rumble in the Mountains event paying $800 to win. The Open Wheel Modifieds will complete the evening’s slate with a Weekly Racing Series program paying $700 to win.

    The Friday night mega event at 201 Speedway will be the opening round of a tripleheader weekend for the WoO Late Model competitors as the tour will visit Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) on Saturday, May 17 for $10,000 and Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tennessee) on Sunday, May 18 for $10,000.

    Darrell Lanigan of Union, Kentucky leads the WoO Late Model Series points heading into the weekend, followed by Rick Eckert (York, Pennsylvania), Shane Clanton (Zebulon, Georgia), Tim McCreadie (Watertown, New York), and Morgan Bagley (Tyler, Texas). The remainder of the top ten in series’ points are Chub Frank (PA), Eric Wells (KY), Frankie Heckenast, Jr. (IL), Clint Smith (GA), and Chase Junghans (KS).

    Open Wheel Modified Weekly Racing Series Payoff: 1) $700, 2) $400, 3) $350, 4) $250, 5) $200, 6) $150, 7) $125, 8) $75 to start.

    Activities for the Friday, May 16 event at 201 Speedway will see the pit and general admission area open at 3:00pm. A mandatory drivers meeting is set to take place at 6:30pm followed by hot laps shortly after. Ticket prices for the Friday, May 16 event in the general admission area will be $25 for adults, pit passes are $40, while children ages 10 and under are admitted FREE to 201 Speedway.

    201 Speedway last raced on May 3 and feature event winners included Stephen Breeding in the Super Late Models, Ervin Vance in the Open Wheel Modifieds, Tim Mason in the Bombers, and Michael Caudill in the Four Cylinder Stock division.
