Default Simple 2.3 question I think

My 2.3 was missing the head locator things, are these available at a parts store? Mail order? I though I saw them in a catalog and now I can't find them!!

Esslinger probably has them. I think Pioneer used to manufacture them. They might still be available from Ford also.

Now that I think about it, Fel Pro makes them, part number ES 74011. I think the Ford number is D42E-6A008-A2A.

Just make sure that you shorten them if your head has been milled and the block deck surface has been milled. Measure the locator hole depth on the head and block to get the approximate length. Head gasket will add some length, but I usually disregard that measurement so that it does not bottom out on the head and block and prevent the head gasket from sealing.
