    Racing Action Returns for All Divisions at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 23

    Junction City, KY-May 18, 2014- After a rainout and a scheduled off weekend, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson and staff will return to action on Friday May 23 with a full racing program in all divisions at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”.

    The Friday May 23 racing program will feature a full program of racing competition in all divisions, with Super Late Models racing 25 laps for $1,000 to win in their main, along with Modifieds racing for $700 to win in their 20 lap feature contest. Also on the Friday May 23 racing schedule will be Pro Late Models racing in a 20 lap feature contest for $600 to win (12 or more entries; $400 to win 11 or less entries), Sportsman racing for $300 to win in a 15 lap feature event, along with Pure Street ($200 to win) and Four Cylinders ($100 to win). RACEceivers are mandatory for all divisions and can be rented at the track at driver registration, with all drivers needing to be signed at the time for the drivers meeting that evening at 7:00 p.m.

    Ponderosa Speedway A-Main Event Payouts for Friday May 23:
    Super Late Models (25 laps): 1st- $1,000, 2nd- $500, 3rd- $400, 4th- $375, 5th- $350, 6th- $300, 7th- $250, 8th- $200, 9th- $175, 10th- $150, 11th through 18th- $125 to start.
    Pro Late Models (20 laps): (12 or more cars)- 1st- $600, 2nd- $300, 3rd- $250, 4th- $200, 5th- $150, 6th- $125, 7th through 18th- $100 to start; (11 or less entries)- 1st- $400, 2nd- $250, 3rd- $150, 4th- $125, 5th through 11th- $100 to start.
    Modifieds (20 laps): 1st- $700, 2nd- $350, 3rd- $250, 4th- $225, 5th- $200, 6th- $175, 7th- $150, 8th- $130, 9th- $120, 10th- $110, 11th through 18th- $100 to start.
    Sportsman (15 laps): 1st- $300, 2nd- $200, 3rd- $150, 4th- $125, 5th- $100, 6th- $90, 7th- $80, 8th- $70, 9th- $60, 10th- $55, 11th through 18th- $50 to start.
    Pure Street (12 laps): 1st- $200, 2nd- $100, 3rd- $90, 4th- $80, 5th- $70, 6th- $65, 7th- $60, 8th- $55, 9th- $50, 10th- $40, 11th through 18th- $30 to start.
    Four Cylinders (10 laps)- 1st- $100 (remainder of the payout based on car count)

    Activities for the Friday May 23 racing event will see the general admission area and pit area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 7:20 p.m. Time trials will get underway at 7:45 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices on Friday May 23 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children ages 12 and under admitted FREE with a paid adult, while a pit pass will be $30.

    Ponderosa Speedway last raced on Friday May 2 and Saturday May 3. Feature event winners on May 2 were Victor Lee of Danville, KY in Super Late Models, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Pro Late Models, Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY in Modifieds, Jimmy Robinson of Richmond, KY in Sportsman, and Chris Bowlin of Williamsburg, KY in Pure Street. Feature winners on May 3 were Victor Lee in Super Late Models, Todd Coffman in Pro Late Models, Bryan Barber in Modifieds, and Glen Hounshell, Jr. of Mount Vernon, KY in Sportsman.

    Track championship point leader heading into the Friday May 23 event are Victor Lee in Super Late Models, Glen Hounshell, Jr. in Pro Late Models, Michael England of Glasgow, KY in Modifieds, Glen Hounshell, Jr. in Sportsman, and Clay Reece of Irvine, KY in Pure Street.

    Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY.
