Brandon Kinzer Starts Prepping for Dirt Late Model Dream Following Holiday Triple-Shot

(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) The Kinzer Motorsports team traveled to the states of Georgia and Tennessee over the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend to compete in a trio of special events from May 23-25. The tripleheader weekend kicked off for the #18 team on Friday night at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, as the Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals tour presided over a $4,000 to win showdown. Track conditions were not spec-motor friendly to say the least and Brandon Kinzer could only muster the nineteenth fastest lap in Group A during qualifying prior to finishing eighth in his loaded heat race. The Allen, Kentucky ace then chose to forego the B-Main, which officially kept him out of the 40-lap feature event, which was won by track co-owner Dale McDowell.

Things went smoother later in the weekend at Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, Tennessee and Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee. On Saturday evening in a rare trip to Hohenwald, Brandon timed in seventh quickest in his group during Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) qualifying and later grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his consolation race. After vaulting to sixth from his fourteenth starting position, BK was caught up in a wreck late in the 40-lapper that dropped him to an eleventh place performance in the $4,000 to win affair.

At Duck River on Sunday, Brandon qualified fifth fastest in his group during time trials, ran second in his heat race, and later passed four competitors during the $5,000 to win A-Main to cap off his weekend with a solid seventh place effort. Following a weekend off on May 30-31, Brandon and his Kinzer Motorsports team will roll into the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 5-7 for the 20th Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ Two prelim nights will start things off at the “Big E” culminating in Twin 25s paying $2,500 to win each on Thursday night and $5,000 to win each on Friday evening. The stakes will raise in a hurry come Saturday at the hallowed 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant, as heat races and consolation events will precede the 100-lap ‘Dirt Late Model Dream,’ which once again boasts a huge $100,000 payday. Brandon has made three career starts in the highest paying main event in our industry and his best outing was a seventeenth place finish back in 2010.
