Full Racing Program Added at Ponderosa Speedway for Friday July 25!

Junction City, KY-July 20, 2014- After a couple of weekends off and a pair of weekend rainouts, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson and staff will return to action at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” with a full program of racing action that has been added to the schedule on Friday July 25.

Originally scheduled as an off weekend, Ponderosa Speedway will now present a full program of racing competition on Friday July 25. Also on this card will be the make-up feature events for the Modified and Sportsman divisions that were rained out back on June 27. Also of note, the 14th Annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial event that was rained out on July 18 and again on July 19 will now take place on Friday August 1, with Super Late Models racing for $3,000 to win.

Ponderosa Speedway Modified and Sportsman Payouts for June 27 Make-Up A-Mains:
Modifieds (20 laps): 1st- $700, 2nd- $350, 3rd- $250, 4th- $225, 5th- $200, 6th- $175, 7th- $150, 8th- $130, 9th- $120, 10th- $110, 11th through 18th- $100 to start.
Sportsman (15 laps): 1st- $300, 2nd- $200, 3rd- $150, 4th- $125, 5th- $100, 6th- $90, 7th- $80, 8th- $70, 9th- $60, 10th- $55, 11th through 18th- $50 to start.

The Friday July 25 racing program will feature a full program of racing competition in all divisions, with Super Late Models racing 25 laps for $1,000 to win, along with Modifieds racing for $700 to win in their 20 lap feature contest. Also on the Friday July 25 racing docket will be Pro Late Models racing in a 20 lap feature contest for $600 to win (12 or more entries; $400 to win if there are 11 entries or less) and Sportsman racing for $300 to win in a 15 lap feature event. RACEceivers are mandatory for all divisions and can be rented at the track at driver registration, with all drivers needing to be signed at the time of the drivers meeting, which begins at 7:00 p.m.

Super Late Models (25 laps): 1st- $1,000, 2nd- $500, 3rd- $400, 4th- $375, 5th- $350, 6th- $300, 7th- $250, 8th- $200, 9th- $175, 10th- $150, 11th through 18th- $125 to start.
Pro Late Models (20 laps): (12 or more cars)- 1st- $600, 2nd- $300, 3rd- $250, 4th- $200, 5th- $150, 6th- $125, 7th through 18th- $100 to start; (11 or less entries)- 1st- $400, 2nd- $250, 3rd- $150, 4th- $125, 5th through 11th- $100 to start.

Activities for the Friday July 25 racing event will see the general admission area and pit area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 7:20 p.m. Time trials will get underway at 7:45 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices on Friday July 25 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children ages 12 and under admitted FREE with a paid adult, while a pit pass will be $30.

Ponderosa Speedway last raced on Friday June 27 and feature event winners that evening included Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY in Super Late Models and Elliott Despain of Campbellsville, KY in Pro Late Models, while the Modified and Sportsman feature events were rained out and will be contested as part of the July 25 racing program.

Track championship point leader heading into the Friday July 25 event are Timmy Taylor of Harrodsburg, KY in Super Late Models, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Pro Late Models, Ryan Thomas of Gosport, IN in Modifieds, and Glen Hounshell, Jr. of Mount Vernon, KY in Sportsman.
