Default Video: Illinois Lightning Sprint Series Double Header W/ MOWA Sprint Week

The Speedway Motors Illinois Lightning Sprint Series will be gearing up for an exciting double weekend as we have a great opportunity to run as a support class in the highly anticipated Midwest Open Wheel Association Sprint Week! Every year, the MOWA Sprint Week attracts jam-packed crowds and draws some of the baddest names in racing.

For the 2nd year in a row, past USAC and 3-time Nascar Sprint Cup Series champion, Tony Stewart, is in the house to compete in the MOWA sprint week! Stewart joins the battle for the top spot with an already star studded field of sprint car drivers including Danny "The Dude" Lasoski, Christopher Bell, Brady Bacon, Rico Abreu, Danny Smith, Tyler Courtney, Ian Madsen,Terry McCarl, & all of our favorite regular MOWA drivers. This is sure to be an action-packed event!

The ILSS is looking forward to being a part of sprint week as our drivers will get an exciting opportunity to share the stage with some of these great drivers. Our first night kicks off on Friday July 25th for a wing race at the always exciting Jacksonville Speedway 1/4 mile. Then on Saturday July 26th, we will be taking the wings off for some dirt slinging non wing action at the mighty Macon Speedway 1/5th mile bull ring. Look for some of our drivers to be pulling double duty in both open wheel classes! Come on out as we kick up some dirt as well as enjoy 2 great nights of 410 sprint car racing. This will be a weekend you won’t want to miss, hope to see everyone there!
