201 Speedway Returns to Action with Coal Show 50 on Saturday, August 2nd!

(July 29, 2014) SITKA, KY – After a few weeks off to resurface the track, 201 Speedway resumes competition this Saturday night, August 2nd. 201 Speedway track owner Jarrod Breeding, promoter Tony Sturgill, and their staff are excited to present the Inaugural Coal Show 50.

The Saturday, August 2nd racing program will feature a complete show of Time Trails, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a Feature for both the Super Late Model and Open Wheel Modified divisions. The Super Late Model main event will pay $5,000-to-win/$400-to-start, while the Open Wheel Modifieds will compete in a $1,500-to-win/$100-to-start main event. The Bombers and Four Cylinder Stocks will also be in competition on August 2nd.

There will be a $100 entry fee for Super Late Models, while B-Main non-transfers will receive $50-to-start.

Activities for the August 2nd event at 201 Speedway will see the pit and general admission areas open at 4:00pm. A mandatory drivers meeting set to take place at 7:00pm followed by hot laps shortly after. Ticket prices for the August 2nd event in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, pit passes are $35, while children ages 10 and under are admitted FREE to 201 Speedway.

201 Speedway last raced on July 5th and feature event winners included Jimmy Owens in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Super Late Models; Dan Ebert in the Open Wheel Modifieds; and Jamie Adams in the 2nd Annual Bill McCloud Memorial Bombers.

Current championship point leaders heading into the August 2nd event are Shannon Thornsberry in the Super Late Models; Scott LeMaster in the Open Wheel Modifieds; Tim Mason in the Bombers; and Michael Caudill in the Four Cylinders Stocks.
