    Second Annual Land of Lincoln Labor Day Weekend Triple Shot Next Up for Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series August 29, 30, and 31

    Glasgow, KY-August 17, 2014- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series returns to action on Labor Day weekend with its 2nd Annual Land of Lincoln Labor Day Weekend Triple Shot events at three of the finest racing venues in the state of Illinois as the tour will be in action on Friday August 29 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL for $3,000 to win, at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL on Saturday August 30 for $5,000 to win, and conclude the weekend on Sunday August 31 at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, IL for $5,000 to win.

    The trip for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series to Farmer City Raceway will the tour’s third appearance at the track, with previous winners having been Jeff Leka of Buffalo, IL and Jacob Poel of Spring Lake, MI. It will also mark the tour’s third appearance at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway, with Jeff Curl of Forrest, IL and Poel having won in those previous visits. The stop at Spoon River Speedway will mark the tour’s second visit to that facility, with Jeff Curl having won that event. Also of note, the event at Farmer City Raceway on August 29 will mark the tour’s 50th event in series history.

    The weekend starts on Friday August 29 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL as the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will present a full racing program featuring practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 35 lap/$3,000 to win/$225 to start A-Main event. Joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in action at Farmer City Raceway on Friday August 29 will be the Corn Belt Clash and Sunoco American Late Model Series West tours in a co-sanctioned event that will pay $3,000 to win. Activities for the Friday August 29 event at Farmer City Raceway will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m., with the drivers meeting set for 6:15 p.m., followed by practice at 6:30 p.m., time trials at 7:00 p.m., and racing at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the Friday August 29 event at Farmer City Raceway in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $30.     The midpoint of the weekend will be on Saturday August 30 at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL for the 2nd Annual Casey’s Modified Nationals featuring the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 40 lap/$5,000 to win/$250 to start 2nd Annual Casey’s Modified Nationals A-Main. Joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in action at FALS on Saturday August 30 will be Corn Belt Clash and Sunoco American Late Model Series West tours in a co-sanctioned event that will pay $3,000 to win, along with $500 to win feature events for the track’s Sportsman and Street Stock divisions. Activities for the 2nd Annual Casey’s Modified Nationals at FALS will see the pit area and general admission area open at 3:00 p.m. The driver’s meeting will be at 5:30 p.m., with practice set to begin at 5:50 p.m., followed by time trials at 6:30 p.m., with green flag racing immediately following time trials. All times listed are Central time. Tickets prices for the August 30 event at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in the general admission area will be $25 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35.     The final event of the weekend will take place on Sunday August 31 at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, IL for the annual Modified Fall Nationals, featuring the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 50 lap/$5,000 to win/$250 to start Modified Fall Nationals A-Main. Joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series at Spoon River Speedway on Sunday August 31 will be the track’s Pro (Crate) Late Model and Four Cylinder divisions. Activities at Spoon River Speedway on Sunday August 31 will see the pit area and general admission open at 4:30 p.m., with the drivers meeting at 6:00 p.m., with practice at 6:15 p.m. Time trials will get underway at 6:30 p.m., with racing at 7:00 p.m. All times listed are Central time. Ticket prices for the Spoon River Speedway event on Sunday August 31 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35.
