    Southern All Stars King of the Mountain Fall Classic Set For Smoky Mt Speedway September 20th

    FAYETTEVILLE, TN—After two rainouts in South Carolina and a race cancellation in South Georgia the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will return to action after it’s late summer vacation on Saturday night September 20th at the Smoky Mt Speedway in Maryville, TN., for the King of the Mountain Fall Classic Hall of Fame race that will $5,000 to win for the 40 lap event along with Limited & Street Stock events.

    The event will also induct the 2014 class of the Smoky Mt Speedway Hall of Fame which include Scott Sexton of Pigeon Forge, TN., who was a regular with the Southern All Stars when the series traveled though east Tennessee, Late Model & Open Wheel Modified driver Billy Palmer, Late Model & Street Modified driver Dewey Floyd, Jim Hunter will be inducted under the category for the asphalt era of Smoky Mt Speedway as he won events at the track, later promoted the track then became a top level official with NASCAR, and finally the last inductee will be former PA announcer Bobby Denton who worked at the Smoky Mt Speedway as well at the PA announcer for the Tennessee Volunteers football program and also at the Talladega Super Speedway. All these gentlemen will be inducted into the Smoky Mt Speedway Hall of Fame during intermission in the nights racing program.

    Drivers that are expected to be in action for the 10th race of the season for the Southern All Stars include current point leader and 2013 series champion Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN., Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., Josh Putnam of Florence, AL., Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL., Bo Shirley of Gadsden, AL., Austin Kirkpatrick of Ocala, FL., three time Southern All Star Champion Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN., Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN., Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC., Vic Hill of Mosheim, TN., Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN., David Payne of Murphy, NC., Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN., Mark Douglas of Knoxville, TN., Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN., Tommy Kerr of Rockford, TN., Stacy Boles of Clinton, TN., Chad Ogle of Knoxville, TN., Dusty Carver of Englewood, TN., plus many more.

    The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series program will consist of White Performance Qualifying group qualifying, PPM Racing Products B Mains along with a 40 lap feature event.

    Pit gates will open at 2 pm with drivers meeting set for 6pm and race time 7pm.

    We'd like to invite all current Atomic & Smoky Mountain Hall of Fame members to attend Saturday night as we restart the hall of fame process. We'd like to have as many to attend that can possibly come.

    Smoky Mt Speedway is the place to be Saturday night as the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series returns for the King of the Mountain Fall Classic/Hall of Fame event, a 40 lap race that will be paying $5,000 to win, plus Limited and Street stock events as well as the induction ceremonies into the Smoky Mt Speedway Hall of Fame, pit gates will open at 3 pm, so make your plans to come out for a great night racing.
