MSD Ignition Upgrade

The MSDŽIgnition upgrade will make your box trigger quicker (Faster Responding!) and make it more effective using 1.5 total amps less current draw. A typical stock MSDŽIgnition 6al as an example using 12 vdc should pull to 12,000 rpm using 12.5 amps and fall on its face. A typical Upgraded MSDŽIgnition 6al with 12 vdc will pull to 15,900 rpm using 11 amps. This improvement has been used in All forms of racing were the racer was looking to Leave Nothing on the Table in their racing program. Before any box is modified it will be bench load tested to confirm its operational status in addition it provides a baseline to compare to once an upgrade has been completed. The heart of the upgrade is a matched pair of main amplifiers as well as some associated bias parts to get the best effort from the upgrade. Once completed the MSDŽIgnition box should be 2 to 3 percent faster triggering than a stock unit from the factory. I use MSD 6A's on my vintage cars. If your car has a factory electronic ignition and fuel injection, you're probably not going to see any difference. MSD's help when you have a sloppy carburetor, points ignition, or if you have changed to high compression pistons. Also good for sustained high RPM running. Perfect for a 60's Plymouth. Shouldn't be needed on your car.
