best car for hornet / buzz car

got a kid wanting to try this class, rules say any 4 or 6 cyl front wheel drive, cant do any thing to engine compartment, my question is, whats the most powerful v6, frontwheel drive, 5 speed, lightest car to use, a lot are using some sort of acura or Hondas, any thoughts?

In the Rule book, what is the meaning regarding 'can't do anything to the engine compartment'? Can you do anything to the engine? What if it needs a valve job, oil pump, or new rings? -Dave-

that's fine, but must be stock, cant do any thing after market to make extra power, must be stock fuel injection.
