Why does everyone build a 383 with flat tops as opposed to domed pistons?

Weight mainly . with the readily available combustion chamber selection we have for heads now obtaining your desired compression ratio is easily achieved without added weight of a domed piston.

Also a flat top piston has better flame travel than a dome meaning more efficient combustion.
