Dennis Erb Racing Ready for Cotton Pickin 100 Following Georgia Doubleheader

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing made the long haul south to the Peach State for a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts on October 4-5. On Saturday night, the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia played host to the annual running of the 'Dixie Shootout.' Dennis Erb, Jr. finished ninth in his heat race and eighth in his B-Main, which forced him to take use of an emergency provisional to gain access into the 50-lap headliner. After starting from the inside of the thirteenth row in the 'Dixie Shootout,' Dennis was able to move up six spots on his way to a nineteenth place performance.

The doubleheader weekend then wrapped up at the ultra-fast Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia on Sunday evening and another $10,000 winner's check was on the line. Dennis knocked down the sixth fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois standout then started fifteenth on the grid in the 50-lapper prior to advancing past four competitors en route to a respectable eleventh place effort. Complete results from both Georgia tracks can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for the #28 team will be a trip to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on October 10-11 for the ‘Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100.’ The two-day mega-event will start on Friday evening with qualifying and heat race action. The consolation races and the 100-lap feature event are then slated to headline the competition at the 3/8-mile oval on Saturday night. The winner of the ‘Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100’ will receive $20,000 for their efforts, while each starter will claim at least $1,200.
