crate motor question
i dont know if this is a dumb question, can any gm dealer sell a crate motor, and if so is it a fixed price or can a dealer charge what they want.

Bob, If you buy it from Karl's in DesMoines you can get it delivered and avoid paying sales tax, mine was $5750 delivered.

It was almost $500 cheaper to buy from jegs (free shipping, No sales tax) than it was to buy from the chevy dealer next door to me. Unless it is a performance dealer like Karls or hendricks you are wasting your time. Cant understand how a non dealer is cheaper than a dealer.

Not sure how that's $500 cheaper than the $5750, I paid delivered to my shop. Looks like maybe $50 and it doesn't have IMCA seals.

Re read my post. If i would have bought from my dealer i would have paid over $400 in sales tax plus the engine from them was $5850. I bought through jegs and didnt have to pay sales tax and was delivered to my door free therefore saving over $500.

there are too many options to just throw you a price
are staff is willing to talk to you for what ever amount of time it takes to fill your requirements to the best of your needs and budget
we are affiliated with a GM performance dealer and we are authorized for repair with most crate sanctions
our new GM engines are $3250 for a 602 and $5675 for a 604 and that does include free shipping within the 48 US states-----as for sales tax ---when we ship out of the state of Ohio we are NOT permitted to charge you sales tax however it is our responsibility to tell you that you are suppose to call your state government and report a major purchase but that is your responsibility not mine
we cannot install IMCA seals

You might try Friesen if you want IMCA seals.
