There will be a open Test and Tune on Friday Night October 24 from 5-9:30PM.
Admission for the Test and Tune will be $15 in the pits with the grandstands free.

8th Annual SteelHead Nationals

This Saturday October 25 Night the Hills of East Tennessee come back to life for the 8th Annual SteelHead Nationals. Through the first 7 SteelHead National events there hasn't been one repeat winner. #23 Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) is set to defend his title and become the first to go back to back in this event. He'll have plenty of challenges as several of Tennessee's finest along with a few out of state competitors are planning on throwing their names into the ring for the $3500 to win $250 to start event.

Also racing will be the Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Mini Stocks going for $1000 to win. Mini Stocks will have 20 car Minimum or their purse will be adjusted.

Admission Prices will be $15 in the Grandstands with children 12 and under admitted free with a paying adult. Pit Passes will be $35 with children 12 and under $15 with a signed release.

General Information: Pit Gates will open at 1:00PM and Grandstands at 3:00PM
Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 4:45. With Hot Laps to follow.
ALL cars must pass through tech and have a tech sticker before you will be allowed to enter the track.
NO ENTRY FEES IN ANY CLASS.

Late Model Rules for STEELHEAD NATIONALS

BODY

Lucas Oil Rules Apply

TIRES

Rear tires must punch 58 cold no chemical alterations to tires. Lucas Oil Series Body Rules, with the exception of 604/602 crates and a side panel.

FUEL

Racing gas or E-85 only.

CARB

One 4 barrel carb only. No dominator carbs.

WEIGHT

All cars will be given a pound per lap burn off with a 10 lb. tolerance,except for qualifying. Car must weigh correct weight after qualifying and must have weight posted on both sides of the roof.

Weight Class A: 2275 lbs. Max cubic inch 365, all steel, flat top piston, flat tappet cam, 23 degree style heads with a 2 degree tolerance and a max of 205 cc intake runner. No raised runner heads. No titanium rods

*602/604 crate engine. Engine must be sealed from factory, NeSmith, Fastrak, All engine components must meet the specifications of GM, NeSmith, or Fastrak. The engine tech will only involve the motor as it comes out of the crate. For Example: headers and carburetor spacer thickness are not in the crate from GM. 12" X 32" Left side only sideboard allowed.

Weight Class B; 2350 lbs. *GM 525 must remain stock from GM, must have 50 lbs. in front of the bell housing.

Weight Class C: 2400 lbs. Max cubic inch 365, all steel, flat top piston, roller or flat tappet cam, 23 degree style heads with a 2 degree tolerance. No raised runner heads or titanium rods.

Weight Class D: 2475 lbs. Max 365 cubic inch, all steel, 23 style heads with a 2 degree tolerance.

Modified Street/Street Stock Rules

Weight 3000 lbs.anytime. No burn off. In the event of excessive amount of cautions the weight will be adjusted before anyone crosses the scales at the discretion of the race director.

Engine: All Steel Open Motor. No aluminum heads or block, no dry sump.

Bodies: Must be Street type car, no clip cars, aluminum bodies ok must be "stock appearing." Track approval. Call before you haul. No wedge bodies. Rear must be enclosed.

Wheels and Tires: 12 inch steel wheels max. Any tire.

Suspensions: Racing springs and shocks allowed, can be relocated. Coil overs allowed.Stock type rear suspension, 3 or 4 link, can have heim and tube trailing arms, leaf spring cars can have sliders. No quick change rear ends, 9 inch floaters ok, Bert and Brin type transmissions allowed.

Fuel: Gas only. Late model type spoiler and side braces allowed. Lucas Oil Series applies. Three spoiler braces are allowed 8" high and 18 1/2" long max. NON ADJUSTABLE SHOCKS ONLY. $150 CLAIM PER SHOCK. Working Raceceivers mandatory. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Protest for Steelheads/Crates and Sportsman:

600.00: Complete Tear down: Intake to Oil Pan
400.00: Remove 1 Head: Check Head, Bore and Stroke, Valves and Head.
250.00: Cubic Inch (PG)
MUST have protest money in hand at the scales after the race.

Mini Stocks will compete in a $1000 to win event with a minimum of 20 plus cars. The purse will be adjusted if less then 20 cars. Cars that want to run Wartburg rules will be allowed to compete with a 50 lb. weight penalty. The weight must be claimed and posted on the right side window post.

Protest For Mini Stocks:
The top 3 cars will be sent to tech after the race with the first place car having his head and cc checked. The second place will be able to have 1 representative present during the tear down. A tear down fee of $200 will be charged if you wish to go to the bottom. You will have 3 minutes to file your protest after the tech decision. Money in hand.
