Riley Hickman Sweeps Weekend Action; Winchester Next

Cleveland, Tennessee (10/21/14) – Riley Hickman just keeps winning in 2014 in his #R1 BIF Motorsports/Hickman Manufacturing Company/CVR Late Model, and last weekend found him scoring two more victories to push his 2014 tally to 14.

As the 2014 Southern All Star (SAS) Racing Series season nears an end, Riley Hickman extended his current points lead with the tour following a $4,000 triumph on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama).

Hickman started his outing by posting the fastest lap overall among the thirty-four entries during qualifications, locking him into the outside-front-row alongside Tom Maddox for the feature. When the race went green, Hickman out-dueled Maddox for the top spot and immediately began to pull away from the field. A trio of yellow flags on laps 13, 18 and 29 nine briefly slowed the action during the 40 lap affair. However, Hickman would never shake his momentum and cap off a dominating performance with the victory over Ray Cook, Tom Maddox, Jason Croft and Kyle Beard. Riley continues to lead the latest SAS point’s standings. Complete results from the event and the latest series standings are available at www.SASDirt.com .

Earlier in the weekend Hickman entered a $1,500-to-win, Limited (Steelhead) Late Model program at Cleveland Speedway (Cleveland, Tennessee). Twenty-two entries were on hand for the Friday night event at the 1/3 mile oval. Riley timed in second during qualifications to lock into the second starting spot for the 30 lap finale. The start of the feature saw Hickman and fellow front-row starter, Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) battling for the top spot before Hickman took control after the first three circuits. Hickman was able to extend his advantage over the field in heavy lapped traffic, despite a close call with a pair of slower cars that left him with noticeable right side damage on lap 22.
Hickman would ultimately avoid disaster and lead the remaining seven laps to score the win over Rick Hickson, Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word), Bryan Pritchard and Skip Arp. Full results from the event can be found at www.InsideDirtRacing.com .

"This has been a really fun year, and I can't thank my family, my team, and all of my sponsors enough for their support," said Hickman. "We've got a handful of events left this season, and hopefully we can grab at least a few more wins."

This Saturday, October 25th will take the team to Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Tennessee) for the Rebel 40, which pays $3,000-to-win. For more information on the event, please visit www.WinchesterSpeedway.net .
