    Default Lr short bar vs conventional long bar

    09 blue front rocket limited steel block motor, 1/2 mile semi banked paperclip track turns slick for feature......Looking for opinions on getting our driver to switched to Lr long bars instead of running the short setup, in the past we have tried the long bars and can never get the car to turn through the middle thats why we never made the change.. Reason i want to get changed over we need the added drive that the long bar gives, and we are to close to overindexing our Lrt bar now so dont have any room to gain.. Is there something were missing to get car on the long bar quicker like indexing to,trail braking, another part of our setup.. Or should we just stick to the short bar if its stable for the driver? i just feel theres more drive to the car if we gain some more drop in the lr...Thanks pm me for more info/suggestions

    The short bar actually provides more instant traction than the long bar.

    We found a lot of forward drive on our 2008 by going to a stacked 400/150 lr. We also put a 250 fifth coil in the third hole if the track was real slick.

    index long bar down on birdcage,try it 1 hole, should help with tight in middle..short bar is quicker traction..windy..

    We run a long LR lower bar I work on the front end and RR to turn the car.

    Honestly, never checked it.......but with the 16" of spring, it was never unloaded.

    With the super soft rate, it was never unloaded. Spring length is not a factor.

    With the 12" 150 alone, there was about 1/2 -3/4 inch of free play, but of course with the stack there wasn't any.

    You had almost a 40% reduction in spring rate.
