Dennis Erb, Jr. Charges to Seventh in Daytime DTWC; Whynot Next

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing put the finishing touches on the 2014 version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season over the October 17-19 weekend at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. The 34th Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship' attracted 89 competitors to the south-central Ohio facility and Dennis Erb, Jr. was gunning for the whopping $50,000 winner's check. On Friday night, Dennis knocked down the twenty-third quickest lap in Group B during the time trial session prior to finishing fifth in his stacked heat race.

Following a rain-out on Saturday evening, the conclusion of the crown jewel spectacular took place on Sunday afternoon at PRP. Dennis grabbed the second and final transfer spot through his B-Main, which lined him up starting from the outside of the twelfth row in the 100-lapper. In front of a huge crowd and the television cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios, the Carpentersville, Illinois standout was able to move past seventeen competitors during the daytime affair to bag a solid seventh place effort. After posting a top ten in the series finale, Dennis was officially placed ninth in the final version of the LOLMDS point standings. Another big race is on the schedule for the #28 team on October 24-25, as they will travel to Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi for the 20th Annual Coors Light ‘Fall Classic.’ Qualifying and heat race action will take place in the Magnolia State on Friday night, while the consolation races and the 100-lap feature will highlight Saturday’s portion of the two-day extravaganza. A $15,000 top prize will be on the line this weekend at Whynot, while each feature starter will receive at least $1,000.
