Ray Cook Seventh in Deep Fried 75; Trip to Cleveland Next for #53 Team

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and his #53 team ventured to Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee over the chilly November 14-15 weekend. The 3rd Annual 'Deep Fried 75' was a Southern Nationals Bonus Race and boasted an $11,000 winner's check.

On Friday night, Ray qualified third quickest in Group A during the time trial session and later scored a heat race triumph on Saturday afternoon at DRRP. After starting the 75-lap headliner from the pole position, Ray ran second early in the distance before eventually fading to a seventh place performance due to a loose racecar. Complete results from the 'Deep Fried 75' weekend can be obtained online at www.southernnationalsseries.com.

The Ray Cook Racing team will look for another strong effort this Friday evening, November 21 at the newly reopened Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee. The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) will preside over the annual running of the ‘Gobbler 50’ and a $5,000 top prize will be on the line. Ray won the ‘Gobbler 50’ back in 2011 and will be looking for his second race title this Friday night at the historic Volunteer State oval.
