Billy Moyer Jr. Completes Clean Sweep of Turkey Hunt

Batesville, Arkansas (11/24/14) - Billy Moyer Jr. put an exclamation point on his 2014 season by sweeping the inaugural Turkey Hunt at El Paso Speedway Park in his #21jr Crop Production Services/Mesilla Valley Transportation/ Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model.

"Wow, what a way to end our season," said Moyer Jr. "To win ten races in a season is huge, and there's no way I could've done it without all of my great sponsors like Crop Production Services, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Longhorn, Imperial Motors, Red Line Oil, All Makes Collision, and everyone, who helps me make this possible."

It was a strong start to the doubleheader for Moyer Jr. as he drove his entry to a $2,500 triumph on Friday night. Twenty-two Super Late Models converged on the 3/8 mile oval for round #1 of the inaugural Turkey Hunt, and Billy won his heat race to lock into the 25 lap feature. Moyer Jr. stalked race-long leader, Rodney Sanders throughout the course of the caution plagued event. His persistent high-side challenges finally paid off as he assumed the point on a restart with just three laps remaining. Moyer Jr. kept Sanders at bay in the closing laps to score his first career victory at the West Texas oval. Sanders settled for second, followed by Don Shaw, R.C. Whitwell and Jason Krohn rounding out the top five finishers.

Saturday night saw the winner's purse increase to $3,000, as twenty-two entries would return to do battle. Looking to capitalize on a stellar start to the weekend, Moyer Jr. used a heat race win to lock into the outside-front-row for the 30 lap finale. When the race went green, Billy outdueled pole sitter, Bumper Jones to lead lap one. From there, Moyer Jr. fought back challenges from Rodney Sanders to lead wire-to-wire for the victory, sweeping the Inaugural Turkey Hunt weekend. Sanders once again finished a close second, followed by Jason Krohn, Don Shaw and Garrett Alberson rounding out the top five finishers. The victory was his tenth of the year, which marks the first time in his career he has reached double digits in the win column.
