    Default 1988 tbi 305 heads

    buddy of mine got a late 70s 4x4 1/2 ton truck with 305 in it,..started knocking other day an he got a 88 tbi 305 otta a firebird he wanta use to get it going,..witch heads be better for him to use an why?

    heads should be 58cc more bottom end. may be better for in that heavy truck but i would change the cam tbi cam may not work to good.

    The 88 TBI heads are the better head of the two but if you are trying to put a carburetor on the tbi engine the intake will have to be changed and the center two holes on the intake side of the tbi heads are at a different angle than the early sbc heads and they require their own intake.

    There is a factory Quadrajet intake on '87s that has the correct center intake bolt angle.

    thanks yall,..what i was needing to know...any body got a cam recommendation??? sposed to be a roller cam but i ant opened it up yet...

    CS1014R 1500-4800 RPM Range 278 intake/288 exhaust Adv Dur Duration @.050 204 intake/214 exhaust Valve lift 420 intake/443 exhaust, Lobe C/L 112There are a lot of upgrades you can do to a TBI motor!!!
